The latest information on the Notsuke Peninsula (Twitter)
Tweets by Betsukai_Hyouheisen Tweets by Betsukai_HyouheisenThe ice horizon is literally an ice ground that spreads like a horizontal line, and ice flat line" is the border between the frozen sea and the sky.
In the east of Hokkaido, We will introduce the charm of the ice ground and the reason why it is built on Notsuke Peninsula.
-
Japan's largest sand peninsula "Notsuke Peninsula".
The area is 26 km long and the narrowest part is only 50 m wide, and the long and narrow terrain with the sea on both sides is also called "Amanohashidate in the north". -
Notsuke Bay, where is the inner side of the peninsula, is the "sea", but will get frozen over during the severe winter season. (From January to Mid-March)
Because the vast ocean is frozen, the flat and wide white plain appears. There is no mountain in Notsuke Peninsula, which is a sand spit, and the size of the sky is exceptional. This combination creates a world of white and blue. -
The ice horizon is magnificent even if you look at it, but if you walk on the ice field, it's exceptional! You can get a white world all to yourself.
But it's on the sea, so let 's take a tour to enjoy it safely. In addition to the ice horizon, the guide will guide you the scenery unique to winter and the appearance of living things, and the wonders of Notsuke Peninsula. -
In "Ice field Walk" walking over the frozen Notsuke bay, you can enjoy a 360 degree panoramic ice view. The guide advises an easy pose to take trick photographs using the perspective. Let's show your photos on SNS!

After you see the ice horizon, please post the photo you took with # Batsukai ice horizon on Instagram (Instagram). Your post may have triggered and the ice horizon may become more popular. (Laughter)
If you want to enjoy walking on the ice field , Join a guided tour conducted by the local Notsuke Peninsula Nature Center. It is very dangerous to walk on the frozen sea without a guide. As a matter of fact, I sometimes see Yezo deer almost falling into the sea as the ice cracks.
